It’s ten weeks (actually 69 days but who’s counting?) until 4/25/17, the release date for The Hangman, the third of my The Forgotten Files novels. I think it’s a perfectly good time to celebrate the series and the new book with the first of several Countdown Giveaways. I feel as if it’s been forever since I shared a new Killer Recipe and, looking back, it has been. So I headed into the kitchen to experiment a bit and happily ended up with Chocolate Raisin Oatmeal Cookies that made me and my sweet tooth very happy and disappeared very quickly. I was not the only culprit.
So, just in time to be a sweet Valentine’s Day treat, here’s the recipe. Enjoy!
1-3/4 sticks butter, softened
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups old fashioned rolled oats
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1/4 cup nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together sugars and then mix in eggs one at a a time. Add vanilla. In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Mix dry ingredients into the butt/sugar mixture. Mix oin oats, chocolate chips, raisins and nuts. Measure out a tablespoon amount of dough, roll into a ball and place onto a greased or parchment lined baking sheet.
Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Serve with love.

I’m going to Disney World! The famed resort is the site of the Romance Writers of America’s 2017 conference. I just finished getting all the details confirmed. This year the four day event is in Orlando at Walt Disney World’s Dolphin Resort. As always, it will include RWA’s annual fundraiser, the Readers for Life Literacy Autographing, which features hundreds of romance novelists.The signing is open to the public, so I’m already looking forward to meeting new readers and reuniting with many of those I’ve met along the way. if you’re able to be there, please do drop by and say hello.
